Postmaster's Certificate - Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

The FNP Postmaster's Certificate curriculum option is designed the nurse who has a master's degree in nursing and who is certified as an advanced practice nurse seeking eligibility for FNP primary care certification.

Semester 1 (Fall)

NUR 632   Selected Health Problems in the Primary Care Setting  3 hrs
NUR 643   Child/Adolescent and Selected Health Problems  2 hrs
NUR 622   Primary Care Practicum (4 hrs = 240 practicum hours)  4 hrs
Total semester hours:  9 credit hours

Semester 2 (Spring)

NUR 642   Well Child/Adolescent & Selected Common Health Concerns  2 hrs
NUR 653   Women's Health  2 hrs
NUR 623   Primary Care Practicum II (3 hrs = 180 practicum hours)  3 hrs
Total semester hours:  7 credit hours

Semester 3 (Summer)

NUR 633   Selected Health Problems of Adults with Acute & Chronic Illnesses   3 hrs
NUR 624   Family Practice Practicum   (4hrs = 240 practicum hours)   4 hrs
Total semester hours:  7 credit hours

Total semester credit hours = 23 (12 class credit hours and 11 clinical credit hours/variable)
Total clinical hours = 660
