Scholarship Award
Academic Scholarship Award for pre-licensure
BSN Students
The academic scholarship award of $250 is
granted annually to a senior nursing student who has the highest
GBCN GPA and has demonstrated professionalism and leadership in both
the classroom and clinical setting. The student must also be in good
academic standing and current with the Bursar’s Office.
Criteria:
*Highest GBCN GPA
* The student must be enrolled full-time
* Be in good academic standing
*Current with the Bursar’s Office
* Demonstrate leadership& professionalism
(First award will be made Fall 2009)
Pi Gamma Undergraduate Capstone Project
Award
The Pi Gamma Undergraduate Capstone Award is
granted to a senior nursing student whose nursing capstone project
demonstrates outstanding scholarship, innovation, significance to
nursing, implementation, and presentation. The leadership course
faculty will evaluate and select candidates for this award. Award is
a plaque and is presented at the Pinning Ceremony. (Award is open to
all undergraduate students enrolled in the GBCN leadership Course).
(Award to be made at Graduation;
First award will be made December, 2009)
Academic
Scholarship for Graduate Students ($250MSN and $250 for PhD) is
granted annually to a graduate student who has completed a minimum
of 9 credit hours in his/her respective program of study and
demonstrates outstanding scholarship. Candidates must be an active
Pi Gamma member. Selection of recipients will occur through graduate
faculty.
Criteria:
* Active Pi Gamma Member
*Must have completed a minimum of 9 credit
hours
* Good academic standing (unconditional
admission to program of study)
* Must be enrolled full-time
*Current with Bursar Office
(First award will be made to MSN -
Fall 2009; first award to be made to PhD – Fall 2010)
Travel Award for Graduate students (MSN &
PhD) is specifically awarded to students who are presenting at
the STTI Biennial Conference or the International Nursing Research
Congress. Podium presentations are given priority over poster
presentations and with preference given to topics related to
cultural competence/global application. Specific funding will be
determined by the committee with input from the Board.
Criteria:
*Active Pi Gamma Member
* Podium Presentations are given preference
over poster presentations
* Applicants must submit abstract & acceptance
letter
*Deadline dates for submission: January 12 for
International Research Congress; May 4 for STTI Biennial (if
deadline dates fall on the weekend, submission must be
received by the next business day following the deadline dates)
(This award replaces the Presentation Grant
Award)

to be made 2009-2010 academic year)

is specifically awarded to active Pi Gamma members who are
