Leadership Internship Program

Goals: 1) foster development of new chapter leadership; 2) perpetuate linkages between evolving membership and developing leadership

Objectives:

  • Create a graduated path of increasing chapter knowledge, commitment, and responsibility for new leadership
  • Mentor developing new leaders into operational organization and function of Pi Gamma
  • Incorporate regional and international Sigma Theta Tau experiences into leader development

Intern Selection:
One intern selected each spring based on interest and commitment. Selection may include application (including goals and objectives), and interview with the Board of Directors. Persons interested in applying should contact the Pi Gamma President.

Intern is expected to:
1. Attend all business meetings, Induction, and special events;
2. Attend minimum of 50% of board meetings;
3. Shadow selected officer or committee chair;
4. Participate in special projects for hands-on experience;
5. Attend Regional and/or International meetings (registrations/travel/accommodations sponsored by chapter);
6. Prepare a brief annual report of chapter involvement; and
7. Commit to fulfill leadership position as either committee chair or officer following year.
