Dr. Fayyaz Haq is a board certified and licensed physician with more than twenty years of experience in internal medicine, hospice and palliative medicine as well as aviation medicine. He has gained significant professional experience by working in a variety of settings including community facilities, government entities, educational institutions as well as private practice. He has been consistently praised and recognized for his dedication and commitment to patient care. Some of his accolades include the “Patient’s Choice 5th Anniversary Award,” the “Top Ten Doctors” award, the “On Time Doctor” award and a 5-year honoree of the “Compassionate Doctor Award.” Such accomplishments has landed Dr. Haq in July 2012 issue of Atlanta’s Top Doctors magazine.
Outside of practicing medicine Dr. Haq also has interests in education and mentoring the next generation of healthcare leaders. He currently serves as an adjunct instructor for the highly-ranked Mercer University Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. Many of the students Dr. Haq has mentored have become respected practitioners in the healthcare community.
Dr. Haq is an alumnus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. From there, he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. He obtained his doctorate of medicine degree at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his internship and residency training at Emory University and its affiliated hospital. During medical school Dr. Haq pursued research in ocular drug delivery systems and co-authored a now cited report on the subject. He continues to be active in CME training, including earning a certificate in physician leadership in 2016 from the Piedmont Leadership Academy in partnership with the Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Haq enjoys motorcycling, hiking and spending time with his family.
