Dr. Hodges' teaching experience includes ASN, BSN, RN-BSN, graduate, and doctoral students. She served as the inaugural RN-BSN coordinator at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing to recruit, advise, and counsel RN-BSN students returning to school, and teaches in the BSN, RN-BSN, graduate, and doctoral programs.
Clinical expertise is primarily adult health, critical care, and geriatrics. Publications include Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Journal of Nursing Education, Journal of Advanced Nursing, Public Health Nursing, and Nursing Education Perspectives. Dr. Hodges co-edited Nursing: Rx for Success, and has been a contributing author to High Acuity Nursing. Currently she serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Nursing Education, and as a reviewer for the Journal of Advanced Nursing.
Dr. Hodges' research involves both qualitative and quantitative research, including gerontology, teaching-learning, professional resilience and career persistence among acute care nurses, and community-based HIV/AIDS awareness and universal precautions. Her publications and presentations include regional, national, and international audiences.
