Dr. Laibhen-Parkes earned her PhD in Nursing in 2014 from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University.  She has over twenty years of clinical bedside experience and continues to work in the clinical setting as a certified pediatric nurse at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.  She holds membership in Sigma Theta Tau International, Phi Kappa Phi, Graduate Nursing Student Academy, American Nurses Association, Georgia Association of Nurse Educators, and Georgia Nursing Leadership Coalition.  She is also a 2012-2014 Jonas Scholar recipient  and one of the first nursing doctoral students in Georgia to receive this award.   She has published in the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, Journal of Nursing, and the International Journal of Nursing Knowledge (IJNK).  Her research interests include evidence-based practice competence, pediatric nursing, and children's health.
