Dr. Gordon was also instrumental in the restructuring of GSU SON's RN-BSN bridge program into a distance accessible format and led the program to a 300% increase in enrollment.  She was also active at the university level where she was the faculty senate representative for the College of Nursing and Health Professions, serving on the senate admissions and standards and cultural diversity committees. Dr. Gordon is well respected among her peers and students alike for excellent teaching strategies and her effective mentorship of both students and faculty. Her research interest is in end of life care, specifically examining hospice use among African Americans. She has presented podium and poster presentations on this topic.
