Ms. Stephen received her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in nursing education.  Her prior appointments included dean of academic affairs, as well as clinical graduate program coordinator.  While at Union Univeristy, California Baptist University, and Colorado Christian University, she gained extensive experience in teaching in online didactic coursework for undergraduate courses. In 2014, after two years teaching in Christian higher academia, she was appointed as California Baptist University School of Nursing's representative to the International Institute of Christian Nursing (IICN), which is a division of Nursing Christian Fellowship International.  This endeavor ignited her interest surrounding the topic of caring from a Christian worldview in nursing.  She would later join a team of individuals from the Institute to launch a sub-committee focusing in this area.  In July of 2019, she co-authored a chapter in a newly published textbook titled “Nursing as Ministry”; the chapter is titled “Caring from a Christian worldview: The Agape Model”.
