Mr. Muirhead is an Instructional Design Specialist with unique blend of extensive experiences with eLearning tools, learning management systems (LMS), e-Portfolios, web technologies, relational databases, multiple software implementation/customization, course development, technical training, learning pedagogies, and complex technical implementations, customizations or integrations in higher education. His current role is the instructional designer at the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University. In this role he also serves as online learning strategist. He administrates management systems like Canvas LMS, Examsoft EMS, Qualtrics, and Echo360 media management system. His current role encompasses the design, development, and distribution of e-learning content for faculty. Mr. Muirhead consults with the university director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and other instructional designers to create and support e-learning solutions for our academic programs; he contributes his expertise to the university’s distance learning committee, undergraduate curriculum committee, instructional-design Nursing education collaborative committee and other school committees as a member. He can readily bridge technical and educational domains to advance project goals. His experience in the higher education setting supports faculty to design courses and integrate technology into a classroom-based, blended, or online course through consultative interactive evaluation cycles. His teaching background and education training provides him with a mature skill set to produce design documents, content outlines, learning objectives and effective assessments.
